Refuge from the Rain

The Aquarius Blinds team were recently contacted to install a large terrace awning for a stunning countryside home in Collingham. The terrace area is used for entertaining, and while the existing first-floor balcony provided some overhead protection, the customer wanted to achieve more effective shading from low sunlight and greater refuge from the rain.

We were able to provide and install our electrically operated Markilux 5010 awning and Markilux Pergola awning system for the area, spanning 6 meters wide and 4 meters projection. The unique feature of this Pergola system is its winding handle feature on the front legs. By lowering one of these legs, the roof pitch becomes exaggerated in one corner allowing water to drain down to a particular spot.

Our team took only one day to install the system, thanks to our Magnidrill – a specialist magnetic drill that can drill through thick steel beams within seconds – to fit the pergola to the existing steel balcony.
