Our client in St Albans was looking for an awning that provided both sun and rain shelter and included a warm area for seating.

As the property was a bungalow, our customer had reservations regarding any possibility of fitting an awning or anything that would provide what they wanted.

The new patio created as part of a recent renovation had provided a great new sitting and dining area but did not provide key features for use during different time of the day and night as well as different time of the year.

Our brief was to provide a solution covering the patio that could be used more than just a summer sunshade and cover as much area as possible.

Our solution was to offer our Markilux Pergola as this is a perfect product for large open patio areas. The restricted height on the bungalow and a water run-off requirement was overcome by using manual lowering legs on the two outermost supports as this created a pitched type of roof.

The final element was to include a Markilux 2.5Kw heating element that can be dimmed via the remote control for total heat control.
